Nº 01 Programs

A program for every pace of learning

Study for two weeks or a whole year, at six to thirty hours a week. Every program aims at the same thing: familiarity with Arabic through instruction, communication and immersion.

On site · year-round

Intensive Arabic courses

The fast track to Arabic, through complete language and cultural immersion. Intensive courses run all year in Modern Standard Arabic or Moroccan Arabic, and are taught exclusively in Arabic.

One course takes four weeks of study, or 80 hours of class. You may study for as little as two weeks or as long as your schedule allows, moving from level to level after a final exam and an oral presentation. Most students register for four to eight weeks.

  • Written and oral placement test on the first day, except for complete beginners
  • Free one-on-one tutoring, Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 18:00, up to 30 minutes a day
  • A dedicated student advisor from check-in, the day before classes begin
  • Cultural activities, academic clubs and excursions alongside your classes

Study abroad · fall and spring

Academic semester

Geared towards, but not limited to, university students who want to study abroad in the seaside city of Rabat. Choose intensive or standard courses in Modern Standard Arabic or Moroccan Arabic, add electives in Media Arabic, Arabic literature or classical Arabic, and area study courses in history, gender studies, political science, economics and more.

  • In-country orientation, and an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) at the end of the program
  • Content courses taught in Arabic or English by Moroccan academics and professionals
  • Homestay or student residence, with optional weekend excursions to Marrakech, Fes, Casablanca, Tangier, Chefchaouen and the Sahara
  • Volunteer and internship opportunities, and transcripts sent to your home university

Semester programs are fully customizable. Possible extras include a dedicated resident coordinator, language partners and tutoring, two meals a day, and a student phone.

Study abroad · summer

Summer intensive program

Four summer sessions every year, each four weeks long. Join one, or several in a row. After class, students explore the city on school-organized excursions, practise their Arabic with locals, or head to the beach.

  • Modern Standard Arabic, semi-intensive (20 hours a week) or intensive (30 hours a week)
  • Electives in Moroccan Arabic, Media Arabic, Classical Arabic or Arabic Literature
  • Area studies courses to match your academic interests

Study abroad · winter

Winter intensive program

For students with a winter break, or free time in the colder months. Thanks to Rabat's moderate climate, the cultural immersion activities continue without interruption, alongside semi-intensive or intensive courses in Modern Standard Arabic.

The program follows the same structure as the summer sessions: orientation, electives, area studies, weekend excursions and an OPI at the end.
